We apologize for the delay in posting, but it has been just so busy here in Dar. Christmas decorations are up and its an exciting time!
We have had great progress with our lecture series/meet-ups initiatives. We are partnering with some great organizations and are creating some wonderful opportunities for networking and progress in the agribusiness sector.
More on that later when we’ve confirmed the next event though! And we are joining more farmers markets and have big plans for 2014 because there has been just such a demand for our eggs and produce! We are working on creating “veggie baskets” where people can pick up their crops and eggs and chips on weekends when there isn’t a farmers market. 2Seeds products are a hot commodity these days!
And some exciting news from the basement of the Kariakoo Market! The application is created!
The map of the basement is finished and we are working on collecting the last bunch of vendor information (the vendor’s name, phone number and what crop he sells). Out of 659 it is a huge accomplishment!
Our off-site meeting was in Tanga where we went swimming, ate pizza an had some productive meetings with eachother and the ground staff team.
Despite the fact that Sophie stepped on a sea urchin and had a VERY painful time getting the thorns out, it was a great visit with everyone and we felt recharged to attack the work we are doing!
We also had a great visit to Lutindi for Thanksgiving. The scenes were stunning and Ross and Luca did a fabulous job at making us all feel at home for Thanksgiving. We had some delicious meals and loved seeing Lutindi and meeting their project partners. We would have stayed for days if we could’ve!
As Christmas is approaching, we wish you all Happy Holidays and a Joyful New Year! We are visiting friends for the holidays and then are off to Tabora (a project site known for their delicious chips and popcorn made by a women’s group!).
